Collaborating with Family Vets to Optimize Outcomes for Pets and Their Families

When a veterinarian sends a patient to us, we appreciate the trust and accept the responsibility to collaborate and communicate with you as the pet patient receives treatment.

We recognize the role that we play in providing optimal care for the pets that come to Veterinary Specialists of the Rockies for treatment, and the importance of that care to pet owners and family veterinarians. We also understand that, as an extension of a pet’s care team, it is important that the pet patient experiences the same level of compassionate care from us as from their family vet.

24 Hour Emergency Care

Many veterinarians in Castle Rock, Castle Pines, Lone Tree, Parker, Highlands Ranch, and other surrounding areas send all after-hours veterinary emergency calls to Veterinary Specialists of the Rockies. Our well-staffed and well-appointed animal hospital is open 24/7, 365 days a year to provide urgent care to family pets. We hope that you will consider working with us to manage your after-hours veterinary emergencies, too.

Specialty Care

Veterinarians confronted by cases that present no clear answers may also find help from the specialists at Veterinary Specialists of the Rockies. When pet owners do not know where to turn to help their dog or cat regain or improve health, our specialists are just a phone call away.

Along with our experienced emergency veterinarians and veterinary technicians, we provide specialty care in veterinary surgery, oncology, internal medicine, critical care, and cardiology as well as trained specialists in diagnostic imaging and pet acupuncture. We hope to add additional specialists soon.

Pet Medical Transport

Some pets can be a challenge to load and transport safely due to their size, temperament, or nature of the illness or injury. If you or your clients need support transporting a patient to our hospital for care at any time of the day or night, our partner, Pet Medical Transport, can help.

Pets are carefully loaded by a certified veterinary professional into a secure, safety-rated crate via leash, carrying case, or stretcher. Live video monitoring is available throughout the transfer, and the vehicle is disinfected following pet drop off. Oxygen delivery and active warming are also available as needed. For more information see the Pet Medical Transport website or call 720.899.7114.
